We recently got in touch with Mr & Mrs Granger to get the story on their recent wedding and also get the inside scoop how they celebrated at the stunning Manhay Farm for their reception! We asked them a few questions and we are delighted to share with you what they said! Hopefully this will inspire other couples for their upcoming wedding.
How and where did you get engaged?
We met for the first time in the 1990s then went seperate ways until we accidentally reconnected in 2021. It was love at first sight and we got engaged in June 2023 on Beacon Hill in Leicester after Rich recreated the first date day we spent together in 2021. We had breakfast in the same cafe, did the same walk up Beacon Hill and sat on the same bench we sat on previously. I joked and proposed to Rich and nearly ruined his big moment for him!!
What day did you get married? Is there any significance to the date?
We got married on the 7.9.24
Where was your venue? Was there any reason why you chose this particular venue?
We got married at Penryn Town Hall as we fell in love with the style of the building. Our reception was at Manhay Farm near Helston. We chose Helston way as its where we lived together when Rich moved to Cornwall from Leicester to be with me in early 2022. Manhay had just reopened as a venue and we fell in love with it even when it was not quite up and running.

Tell us all about your suppliers. Did any of them go above and beyond?
All the suppliers we used did all we wanted and more!!!
Francesca at Manhay Farm was a dream boat and she became like a friend and support leading up to the day and on the day and after she was always there working hard.
Georgia Lewis singing blew our minds we watch her videos over and over.
Cornwall Hire did our wedding so last minute due to me not making up my mind! The photos and messages were back so quick.
Claudia Jane was so reassuring and made us all look amazing and did some gorgeous social media posts which I treasure.
Ollie Harris extended his hours with us when asked a week or so before, he never stopped all day and the photos were better than we ever dreamt they would be and back so fast!!
What the best part about your day?
We loved it all but our ceremony meant the world to us we both were emotional and almost everyone cried. We had 3 readings from friends which was beautiful and the town hall was stunning. Having all our friends and family travel from far and wide (texas, france, leicester) meant so much to us.
I loved my uncles speech as it mentioned my Dad and brother who are no longer here and our first dance was special and we watch the video over and over.
Dancing the night away was such fun and finally felt time to relax after months of hard work! When everyone left Rich and I had a dance in the barn on our own to whams I’m your man and this memory will always stay In my mind.
Where was/is your honeymoon?
We went to mauritious 3 days after the wedding it was stunning and we loved every second.
What is your best advice for other couples?
Remember its your day so do what’s right for you! Slow down and take in your surroundings as you miss so much of the day. DO NOT worry if everyone is having a good time, they are and if they weren’t it’s not on you! You won’t get to spend much time with everyone individually but try and keep with your new spouse much as you can don’t get separated it’s your day.
Thank you Michelle and Rich for sharing your story and we wish you both a happy marriage. From the team at Cornwall Weddings.
